Strawberry Butterfly Cupcakes

Wow! These cupcakes are really delicious!

Talking about our upcoming Butterflies Themed Classes one of you pointed us in the direction of this recipe & as we love cake so much we just had to try them :)

This recipe comes from the Bake with Stork Website! They have lots of other delicious baking recipes so do pop over for a nosey!

If you already have your mixing bowl out we’ve popped the recipe below…

You will need:


  • 125 g Stork with Butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 175 g flour
  • 25 g ground hazelnuts
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 ml milk

Cream Icing

  • 1 small lemon
  • 150 g cream cheese (full fat)
  • 50 g icing sugar
  • 200 g cream for whipping (min. 30% fat)
  • 250 g strawberries

Lets get baking…

Preheat oven to 200 °C (180 °C fan oven).

Pop 12 paper cases into a muffin tray. Beat the Butter and the sugar together until smooth & then fold in the egg slowly.

Mix the flour, the ground hazelnuts, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Then combine with the milk & stir it in the batter carefully.

Divide mixture evenly between the paper cases. Pop in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes. Once golden in colour allow cupcakes to cool completely.

For the icing…

Finely grate the lemon zest then mix in with the cream cheese and icing sugar. Whip the whipping cream with a mixer until stiff then fold it a spoonful at a time into the cream cheese mixture.

Spread the cream on the cooled cupcakes & decorate with butterfly-shaped strawberries!
